Website design is often where a website begins its journey. Web design is concerned with what the user actually sees on their computer screen or mobile device, and less so about the mechanisms beneath the surface that make it all work. Through the use of color, images, typography, and layout, they bring a digital experience to life. Design focuses on the way that a website looks, and how it is used.
Web design is important because it impacts how your audience perceives your brand. The impression you make on them can either get them to remain on your page and learn about your business or leave your page and turn to a competitor
Branding & Logo
A logo is much more than just an image; it is a point of recognition for clients and an important foundation for the branding of your company. Ideally, you’ll want people to instantly connect the sight of your logo with the memory of what your company does – and, more importantly, how it makes them feel.
A content strategy allows you to understand exactly why you’re using any given type of content, who you want to reach, what content you’re going to create, what goals you’re looking to achieve, what channels to leverage, and who will be in charge of what. It’s important for the web designer to ask the right questions of the client in order to get this information.
Think of website development as the behind-the-scenes work that takes various components (including the design of the site) and creates a working website that includes images, content, links, buttons and various other features. Many tools are used in the development of websites, from content management systems such as WordPress to programming languages such as PHP, CSS and HTML
Built From Scratch
A Website built from scratch is a custom designed and hand-coded website. So making a website from scratch simply means that the site is meticulously constructed according to the clients’ needs, and their specific business requirements.
Choose a Premade Template
Using pre-made templates can save a lot of time in the long run and can also give the client some wonderful ideas of effects and the “look” of certain sections. For a client that is not sure of what they want it is very useful.
Maintenance & Updates
Maintenance of a website is extremely important as no client wants to see information that is out of date or no longer relevant. Doing regular updates can mean that the site will not “break” and continues to run smoothly. A Service Level Agreement addresses the terms of this structure.
Clearly define with the client exactly what they want to see as an end result, the aims and objectives, the terms of work and contract.
The designer will come back with some sp visuals based on client requirements and expectations, provision of content and images
Refine the design and expectations - make adjustments to the contract and to any information to be included.
Build the website based on the final agreements reached through the previous three stages. Make provision for changes.
